Terms of Service
Last updated 15 September 2026
These terms apply when you use Passmate at passmate.ai. By creating an account you agree to them. Please read them, they are short.
1. What Passmate is
Passmate is an online practice and insight service for children preparing for the 11+. Children complete short adaptive practice sessions. Parents and tutors receive reports and briefings based on those sessions. Passmate is a practice tool. It is not a school, a tutoring agency or an exam board, and it is not affiliated with GL Assessment, CEM, any local authority or any school.
2. Accounts
- You must be 18 or over to create a parent or tutor account.
- A parent or guardian creates a profile for each child and is responsible for that child’s use of Passmate, including keeping the child’s sign-in link and PIN safe.
- You must give us accurate information and keep your email address up to date so we can reach you about your account.
- Tutors may only be linked to a child with the parent’s agreement. A parent can remove a tutor at any time.
3. Free report and subscriptions
- Free report. A child’s first session and the insight report that follows are free. No payment details are needed.
- Subscription. Continued practice and weekly reports require a subscription, currently £19.99 per month per family, billed monthly in advance through Stripe. The price shown at the time you subscribe is the price you pay. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before any price change takes effect for you.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then. We do not refund part-months.
- Cooling off. If you are a consumer in the UK you have 14 days from subscribing to cancel for a full refund, unless you have used the paid service in that time, in which case we may deduct a fair amount for the use you have had.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails we will retry and email you. If it still fails after 7 days we may pause the subscription.
4. Using Passmate properly
You agree not to:
- Share your account, or a child’s sign-in link, with anyone outside your family or your child’s tutor.
- Copy, scrape, resell or republish our questions, reports or other content.
- Attempt to access another family’s data or interfere with the service.
- Use Passmate for anything unlawful.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. We will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
5. Content and ownership
Passmate, its questions, reports, software, design and branding belong to us or our licensors. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own family or, for tutors, for the children linked to your account. Reports about your child are yours to keep and share as you see fit.
6. Reports are insight, not guarantees
Reports and readiness estimates are generated from a child’s practice data, partly using AI. They are there to help you and your tutor decide where to focus. They are not predictions of an exam result, and no practice tool can guarantee a place at any school. Always use your own judgement, and your tutor’s, alongside them.
7. Availability
We aim to keep Passmate available at all times but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted. We may change or withdraw features, and we will try to give notice of anything significant. If we withdraw the service entirely we will refund any unused part of a subscription.
8. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when you signed up, or for any loss connected with an exam outcome or school admission decision.
9. Privacy
How we handle personal data, including a child’s, is set out in our Privacy Policy. It forms part of these terms.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will email account holders at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree you can cancel before then. Continuing to use Passmate after the change means you accept it.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may bring a claim in your local courts.
